Cookin' spaguetti with Piquillo's Pepper
Tuesday, 17 February 2009 13:19

Hi everybody. Today I am going to start a new Mind Cookin section. I'm gonna call it "designer on a diet". I will tell you how to cook like a designer, something that you won't learn at school!! Our first recipe is gonna be my girlfriend's classic "Spaguetti with Piquillo's pepper & Bechamel Sauce", a recipe that she uses to capture me in her love (you now that we -men- are captured by our stomach):

Spaguetti with Piquillo's Pepper & Bechamel Sauce:

Ingredients:

  • Spaguetti
  • a canned pepper tin (it doesn't mind if they are not from Piquillo -Spain-)
  • a spoon of flour
  • 40 -50 grams of butter
  •  Half a litre of milk
  • Oil
  • Water & Salt

First of all you need to fill a saucepan with water and salt and boil it. Then put inside the spaguetti and leave them there the time needed. Meanwhile put the butter and a bit of oil inside a frying pan and put it on to light heat. Once the butter is liquid, put the flour on it and remove quickly. You'll get a nice compact mixture. Then pour some milk and continue removing, but do it slowly. Gradually pour all the milk and don't stop removing. After 7-10 minutes you'll have that bechamel sauce ready to eat!!! But you'll need to add some salt and pepper to make it tasty. It's time for the great part: open the canned pepper, throw away the liquid and put them over the sauce.

Serve the spaguetti in your plates and sprinkle the sauce, add a bit of cheese and you have it!! Bon apetit!!
